The Diary of a Nobody – At the hotel, Sparrow takes a rather detailed reservation. Today’s Diary.
I had to stifle a laff after a while because while he still sounded fairly young, he was already turning into an old fussbudget: top floor (away from the drug dealers roaming the parking lot), quiet (away from Club Sparrow, where the tracks crank all nite long), away from the parking lot (so the car break-ins don’t wake him), away from housekeeping and maintenance offices (so he doesn’t get COVID from infected hotel employees), away from stairs and elevators (so his fellow humans don’t bother him with their comings and goings).

The Diary of a Nobody – The airline crew disappears. Today’s Diary.
They started filtering in about 0545 – professional travelers, they’re in the lobby well in advance of their 0605 pick-up time and always turn their keys in – and yours truly was out there for something or other and I went back to the back office and then I heard them scurry out…Then at 0605 the shuttle driver rings the bell and I go out and she’s wondering where the airline crew is!!!…I am not making that up…They had simply disappeared and you don’t have to be Joe Friday to be wondering exactly what happened.

The Diary of a Nobody – At the hotel, Sparrow has to get tough. Today’s Diary.
There were multiple contacts with the two gals in 263…Initially, they called right after yours truly reported for duty looking to scam their way into the pool…I apologized and said no and the chick whined in a manner that implied she was accustomed to getting her way thru whining and finally I had to apologize and say I wasn’t able to accommodate that, which is #2 on the Denial Scale, right behind “no means no” which, frankly, is mostly used the cat and seldom used at work.

The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow deals with a cheapskate at the hotel. Today’s Diary.
After I’d had the nerve to quote her a not-completely-unreasonable $149, plus tax, her husband comes on with a load of cheapskate questions: is that my cheapest room???…Don’t you have a closet or pump room we could stay in???…Are there any cheaper hotels in town???…How about a Motel 6, is there a Motel 6 in the area???…Now, they may have been cheap by necessity, but good gravy, if you can rattle off these questions off the top of your head, you have significant cheap street cred (CSC).

The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.
1. NHL – Yeah, this is the first time in NHL history a referee has muttered under his breath he wanted to issue a penalty against a certain team…Hockey fans everywhere can rest easy now, knowing this problem has been nipped in the bud and will never happen again.
2. Suez Canal – Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “pretty sure” high winds nonsense being offered as reason ship is blocking canal is like “totally whack and stuff” and wondering what they were doing shots of on the bridge at time of accident…Canal only handles 10% of world’s shipping traffic, so effects shouldn’t be too bad.
3. Lauren Daigle – 122 non-consecutive weeks at #1 and counting on Billboard Hot Christian Singles chart for her single You Say, extending Billboard all-chart record…Morman Tabernacle Choir so determined to have their own hot, Christian single by Easter they’ve brought in aging Osmond brothers to work on stalled disco reboot of I Know That My Redeemer Lives.
4. Boulder Shooting – While media generally flier on usual, post-mass shooting 2nd Amendment debate, Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters still “pretty sure” violent American citizens remain products of violent American government that has been at war every day for over 30 (30) years.
5. President Joe Biden Fact Check – Fact-check fans everywhere – spoiled by 24/7 lies of Trump Administration – ecstatic after finally getting some modest misinformation out of President Biden…Click here for latest, from the Associated Press.

Of course it’s Read Free Sunday at The Diary of a Nobody.
The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow declines a gratuity of pot. Today’s Diary.
The funny thing was the dude tried to tip me with weed…I am not making that up: a baggie of what he insisted was some “primo stuff” was held out, but I declined it…While I fully support everyone’s right to smoke weed, I personally don’t nor, frankly, do I enjoy hanging out with those who do…The guy then announced he wanted to Venmo me some money, but I waved it off and he wasn’t pleased with this, either, but he was sufficiently stoned he wouldn’t have taken offense had I hissed at him…
