The Bottom Ten/NFL Week 6
By Gaylon KentAmerica’s Funniest Guy™

And then there were two (2).

As expected, both games featuring the NFL’s 0-4 teams produced two losers, with the Bears and the Panthers taking charge in the race for sport’s most coveted prize: The Dan Henning Trophy – symbolic of NFL Bottom Ten supremacy.

But with most Bottom Ten fan(s) focusing on the unvictoried, veteran Bottom Ten fan(s) know that with no less than eight (8) one (1)-win teams preening for Bottom Ten pollster’s attention, the race for coveted Bottom Ten medal stand spots promises to be the closest ever.

This week’s mess, as the nags are in the clubhouse turn:

1. Chicago Bears (0-4; lost to Denver 31-29) – Bears prove value of home-field advantage in stuffing Broncos hope at 0-17 glory…Bears have lost 14 straight and haven’t won in 49 weeks…Next Loss: at Washington

2. Carolina Panthers (0-4; lost to Minnesota 21-13) – Stamp of approval of B-10 Hall of Famers this week could be big morale push that sends Panthers to even greater B-10 heights…Panther fan(s) not getting hopes up, though, remembering 1-5 start last year that ended in seven (7)-win disaster…Next Loss: at Detroit

3. Cincinnati Bengals (1-3; lost to Tennessee 27-3) – Bengals soar onto B-10 medal stand with stunning road loss against dreaded AFC South team…Bengals still looking to shed Worst Team Never To Win B-10 Title moniker in 2023…Next Loss: at Arizona

4. New York Giants (1-3; lost to Seattle 24-3) – In the rough-and-tumble B-10 world, it’s not only that you lose, but how you lose, and blowout, notice me, national TV loss for already reeling team has Giants knocking on door of coveted spot on B-10 medal stand…Next Loss: at Miami

5. New York Jets (1-3; lost to Kansas City 23-20) – Jets adapting seamlessly to new B-10 expectations after loss of Hall of Fame quarterback…Big game this week against Broncos will show if Jets are B-10 contenders or pretenders…Next Loss: at Denver

6. Las Vegas Raiders (1-3; lost to LA Chargers 24-17) – Raiders’ defense tosses shutout in second half, but after giving up 24 first-half points it didn’t really matter…With five (5) games remaining against teams ranked this week, Raiders could see strength-of-schedule points later in season…Next Loss: Green Bay

7. Minnesota Vikings (1-3; defeated Carolina 21-13) – Vikings fan(s) scratching head(s) over this one as turnovers, penalties still not enough to stay unvictoried…With momentum blown, Vikings cannot get caught looking ahead to 10/15 showdown with Bears and pull of upset win this week…Next Loss: Kansas City

8. Denver Broncos (1-3; defeated Chicago 31-29) – Broncos another team kicking themselves after blowing shot at winless season…Denver another team that could see big strength-of-schedule points with each following Bears loss…Next Loss: New York Jets

9. AFC South (16-16) – Once, current, and probably future Pete Rozelle Award winners – issued to NFL’s worst division – AFC South only team with no one above .500.

10. Arizona Cardinals (1-3; lost to San Francisco 35-16) – Cardinals back on losing schneid after Cowboys win that could come back to haunt them…Showdown against Bengals this week could come down to who wants it less…Next Loss: Cincinnati
