Better Early Than Never
Even tho the paving that was delaying the drive in at nite is now done during the day, we are still leaving at the old time, so we were in the hotel for a nice session of drinking coffee on the couch and watching Robert work.

The fly in the ointment, tho, was some local Mexicans were having some sort of celebration in the Champagne Room, and the music was really loud…Really loud…Too loud…Typically Mexican loud, tho, because Mexicans, while gracious, are not polite, and there are few things they enjoy more than obliging everyone in the tri-state area to listen to their music…(We’re half Mexican, and that gene missed us; instead, we were issued the horror the English have at causing offense.)

Neither the restaurant manager Carissa nor Robert were willing to tell them to lower it tho, both settling for the appeasement of a 2200 shutdown time over taking immediate action…Because it was too loud in the lobby…Had we been on the clock, we would’ve told them to lower it, and if that request didn’t find favor, we’d give them the option to lower it or leave…This is pretty extreme, but we are lousy appeasers, and we’re giving them options, which is key when laying the hammer down, because people do not like being ordered around by grunt employees…But we never dealt with them, and they shut things down right when we took over, so the hammer stayed in the tool bag.

Roberto and ol’ Sparrow did get a laff in, tho…He was sitting with us in the lobby with us – the music blaring, of course – and we told him about our two nites at the hospital, noting we were well-fed the last nite…We added it brings up the old bachelor conundrum: enjoy the peace that living alone brings, or tolerate the commotion of a relationship in order to eat daily meals that actually require cutlery…Roberto thought about it for a few seconds.

I’ll go with my gut.

This wasn’t really a bulletin, because Robert is noticeably well fed, the diet his wife put him on a couple of months ago not yet producing visible results…Robert then took the other side of the issue, noting that if he didn’t have “my responsibilities”, he’d likely be driving around town in his long-desired BMW.

In Admin News
The big news is there is a new procedure for handling no-shows…I am not making tht up…Usually, they were checked in as if they were there, with the matter further referred to day shift, if it was a multiple nite stay…If they only stayed that one nite, you check them out and the sun still rises in the east every morning.

Now, we check them in, but instead of leaving it at that, we post a no-show fee (equal to one nite’s room and tax), and it’s important here to remember to put $0.00 as the rate, or else when you run the audit room and tax will be posted again.

From The Rx Desk
The big news is we’ve been farting a lot lately – actually for a while, now – so we bought some gas tablets after work…The retailer’s house brand, too, because it has the same active ingredient as the Leading National Brand (LNB)…We’re tired of wholesale farting because the old sailor’s adage of never trusting a fart in old age is turning out to be rock solid advice…Plus, we’re tired of stinking places up…It worked, too; we’re no longer bloated, we feel like we’ve lost 20 pounds, and we’re no longer cutting the cheese every five minutes.

Also, we’ve stopped taking our garlic supplement because it was giving us heartburn…At first we thought we had heart problems, but then we remembered some old line about not knowing what heartburn was until you wake up and don’t have it, and for some reason that kept us from going to the ER claiming chest pains…The heartburn is all gone…So we’re less bloated, and we don’t have heart problems, which we’re grateful for.

Home Slice
We had time to get to the gym for deep breathing after Daily Report, but we ended up coming right back…The problem was there was one broad each in Room 1 and Room 2…The gal in two also had a toddler, who was whining left and right about something and that’s a very mindful atmosphere for deep breathing to certain music…Room 1 had this very pretty brunette we only got a quick glance at…She was lying flat on her back and she may not’ve even seen us, if we went in there she’d be a distraction and she would probably think we were creepy, so went home, where we changed up the deep breathing routine a bit…Recall we have been doing three 10-minute sets, but simply because we could, we switched to two 15-minute sets

Sparrow’s Sleep Log:
1000 Sunday until 1700 Sunday
1000 Monday until 1800 Monday

15.0 hours for the period, a bit better than last week’s ho-hum Monday total.

The Diary of a Nobody is a novel. All elements are either products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Anything else is a coincidence.

The Diary of a Nobody was inspired by the 19th-century British novel of the same name.
