The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.

1. Donald Trump and the Mantle of Idiocy – A witless week, even by his standards, as he declares he is changing the name of Veterans Day and distributes pics of him dressed as the new pope…The latter would’ve been funny if George Carlin were president, but from Trump, it’s merely the usual idiocy he’s issued for ten years.

2. US Tariff Revenue Reasonable reports show America has taken in $69 billion in tariff revenues under Trump, but where is that money coming from???…It’s coming from you and me, we the people, not the exporting countries…American companies are paying it, and because they pass the cost off on us, it means it’s merely another tax on us…That is $69 billion being sucked out of the economy, $69 billion that isn’t being spent, saved, or invested.

3. 2026 Midterm Elections Pulse The new 3-hole staple, measuring the chances of the 2026 midterm elections actually being held…This week the pulse is weak because anyone who can talk about being elected pope and renaming Veterans Day is ignorant enough to try this…Fact Trump he is still holding campaign rallies despite not being eligible for reelection could be key.

4. Los Angeles Lakers Good gravy guys, two of the greatest ever on the team and a coach who exceeded all reasonable expectations and you still couldn’t get out of the first round???…Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “pretty sure” they have no idea whether Lebron should exercise player option or decline it.

Extra, extra, read all about it.

In 1970 – Ohio National Guard troops fire at Vietnam War protestors at Kent State University in Ohio, killing four unarmed students and injuring nine others. Those shot were part of a group of 300 students protesting the Cambodia campaign of the Vietnam War. The shootings led to further protests and student strikes at over 450 US colleges and five days later 100,000 protestors march on Washington, DC. Eight of the shooters were tried in a civil trial and all were acquitted.

In 1968 – The Pittsburgh Pipers win the first ABA title four games to three, defeating the New Orleans Buccaneers 122-113 in game seven in Pittsburgh. It was the only ABA Finals appearance for each team, and the Pipers moved to Minneapolis for the 1968-69 season before returning to Pittsburgh the following year. New Orleans would move to Memphis three years later, and the ABA folded in 1976.

In 1959 – The Fleetwoods are at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth and final consecutive week with Come Softly To Me. It was the first of nine Top 40 hits, three Top 10 hits and two #1s for the group. The song also went to #1 in Canada, peaked at #6 in Great Britain, at #5 on Billboard’s soul chart, and was their 8th-biggest song of the year.

Some Philosophy Crap
The wisdom of the ages. Whatever.

But since I intend to write something useful to an understanding reader, it seemed better to go after the real truth of the matter rather than to repeat what people have imagined.

Answer To The Last Trivia Questions
Knowledge is power.

The first person to have a posthumous #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 was Otis Redding, who went to #1 with (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay in March 1968 after his death in December 1967.
