The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.
1. War With Iran – There is still no reason nor legal basis for this war. Congress hasn’t declared it as required by the Constitution, Iran wasn’t that much of a threat, there is no exit strategy – nor much of any strategy at all, and the worst part is gas prices are starting to rise…This is merely another Mideast war caused by the US that will leave nothing but destruction and resentment.
2. Donald Trump and College Sports – Since there’t nothing else going on, President Trump has indicated he will prepare an executive order that will clean up college sports…One, executive orders do not make new law, only Congress can do that…Their purpose is to help implement exisiting law…Two, any plan of Trump’s will be typically witless…Three, the government must butt out of college sports. The NCAA got itself into this mess and they can get themselves out of it.
3. USA! USA! – The 3-hole staple…America has thrown in the towel, now at its lowest point since slavery, governed by a man of no moral or intellectual substance…We have a Congress, a citizenry, and a media that is appeasing him…We are now a rogue nation that kidnaps and assassinates world leaders we don’t like and is currently involved in a war against a nation that is no real threat to us.
4. Daylight Savings Time – Good gravy, only four months of standard time nowadays?…This is stupid…Either go back to six months of each, or twelve months of one or the other…The current law makes no sense.
5. Epstein Files: – They’re still there, with Donald Trump still mentioned at least 38,000 times…Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters strongly suspect it is not because Trump was registering complaints against child sex trafficking.

In 2014 – Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, service from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappears while over the South China Sea. The flight took off at 12:42 am; the last voice transmission was received 38 minutes later, and the last radar contact, well off its intended route, was at 2:22 am. All 239 people on board died, and the exact fate of the aircraft has never been determined, though some wreckage was later found on various shores on the Indian Ocean.
In 1971 – The Milwaukee Bucks win the last of their NBA-record 20 consecutive games in a 104-99 win over the Seattle SuperSonics. The Bucks had broken the record of 18 consecutive wins established by both the Rochester Royals and the Philadelphia 76ers, and the streak ended the following night with a 110-103 loss to the Chicago Bulls. The record was broken the following season by the Los Angeles Lakers, who won 33 straight games.
In 1975 – Bob Dylan is at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with Blood on the Tracks. The album also went to #1 in Canada and New Zealand, peaked at #4 in Great Britain, and was Billboard’s 40th-biggest album of the year. It produced one chart single, Tangled Up In Blue, which peaked at #31 on the Hot 100. It was the second of Dylan’s five #1 albums.
