The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.

1. Kyle RittenhauserAn attention-starved kid goes to defend property he doesn’t own in a state he doesn’t live in and kills two people and gets off scot-free in incident that probably wouldn’t have happened if he’d gotten laid the night before…Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “strongly suspect” this is not what the 2nd Amendment was designed to protect.

2. Julius JonesJones was a few hours from execution when Tennessee governor grants clemency, allowing Jones to spend rest of life in prison…Clemency granted because there is some doubt as to Jones’ guilt, leaving Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “pretty sure” if there’s sufficient doubt to let him live there’s sufficient doubt to set him free.

3. Donald Trump – The 3-hole staple…Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “strongly suspect” future generations will wonder why anyone gave time of day – much less media coverage and votes – to someone who believes 1) the moon is part of Mars; 2) Colorado borders Mexico; and 3) the Revolution was won by the securing of British airports…Plus he will always have blood on his hands for a non-existent COVID response…Which one of these elements continues to earn him support???

4. Peng Shuai Chinese tennis star still not seen in public after having nerve to accuse Communist Party official with sexual assault two weeks ago…Thank God for consistency of spineless IOC, which is keeping quiet on matter so as best not to disturb cash cow that upcoming Beijing Winter Games will be.

5. Zane Floyd – Nevada death row inmate arguing to be shot to death instead of poisoned via lethal injection… Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters have been neither shot nor lethally injected, but willing to bet the former hurts a lot less than the latter and if we insist on executing people, shooting them is, perhaps, the most humane way to do this.

I told him it was nice if you like having zero dining options and enjoy doing squat and while it’s affordable compared to in town, it’s not really inexpensive anymore, either…

The long march to today.

In 1877 – American Thomas Edison announces the invention of the phonograph. Edison’s first recordings were made on tinfoil wrapped around a grooved cylinder, which could only be played a few times. Later wax cylinders were used with discs introduced in the 1890s. Record player use began to decline with the introduction of 8-track and cassette tapes in the 1960s and declined sharply following the introduction of the CD in the 1980s.

In 1905 – The first Australian Open begins at the Warehouseman’s Cricket Ground in Melbourne with Rodney Heath defeating Timothy Fitchett 6-4, 6-1, 6-0 in a first-round match, with Heath winning the title on November 24th, over Albert Curtis in four sets. The tournament was recognized as a major tournament in 1924 and was known as the Australasian Championships through 1926. The first women’s tournament was held in 1922,

In 1981 – Hank Williams, Jr. is at #1 on Billboard’s country chart – then known as the Hot Country Singles chart – for the only week with All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down). It was the fifth of ten #1 country songs for Williams and the song also went #1 country in Canada. A reworked version of the song by Willaims, All My Rowdy Friends (Are Coming Over Tonight) peaked at #10 on the country chart in 1984.
