Writing worth reading. Usually.

The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow and Chris discuss the DoorDash delivery that had been in the lobby all day. Today’s Diary.

Chris’ working hypothesis was that Q forgot to change his address with DoorDash and that they delivered it here out of habit because you do not have to be Ronald McDonald to strongly suspect that Q used DoorDash a lot while he lived here…

The Bottom Ten/NFL Week 12 – Bottom Ten fan(s) everywhere know the race for the most coveted trophy in sports – The Dan Henning Trophy, symbolic of NFL Bottom Ten supremacy – is far from over.

Raiders need to avenge earlier win over Broncos this Sunday to really demonstrate 2022 B-10 street cred…

Not satisfied with Week 12 ranking and hoping to inspire more losses, owner Genghis Khan has taken coaching staff wives hostage again…

Great job America, more divided government as US heralds – again – to itself and the rest of the world still paying attention to us that we are not ready to make substantive changes to the way we are governed…

Extra, extra, read all about it.

In 1793 – In the French Revolution, 90 Catho;lic priests are executed by drowning in the River Loire at Nantes. The dead were part of a group of 160 priests that had been arrested for not supporting the revolution and the remainder would be drowned the following night, save one who was an expert swimmer and escaped. History refers to this episode as the Drownings at Nantes and the period as the Reign of Terror, and it is estimated that as many as four thousand people were drowned.

In 1957 – The longest winning streak in major division college football history ends when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeat the Oklahoma Sooners 7-0 in Norman, Oklahoma. It was the first lost after 47 consecutive wins for the Sooners, and the record still stands. The streak had started on Oct 10, 1953, with a 19-14 win over Texas, which followed a tie against Pitt and a loss to the Irish. The NCAA major and all-division record for the longest undefeated streak is 64, by the Washington Huskies, who went 60-0-4 from 1907-17.

In 1985 – The Miami Vice Soundtrack is at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart for the third of eleven non-consecutive weeks. The album also went to #1 in Austria and Canada, peaked at #11 in Great Britain, and because it charted in two different survey periods, was Billboard’s 25th-biggest album of 1986. It produced two chart singles, Miami Vice Theme by Jan Hammer, which spent one week at #1 on the Hot 100 and You Belong to the City by Glenn Frey, which peaked at #2.

Some Philosophy Crap
The wisdom of the ages. Whatever.

One may talk of peace only with those who are peaceful. To talk of peace with him who holds a drawn sword is foolish unless one is unarmed, then one must talk very fast, indeed.
