The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow has the latest MPG figures for the new ride. Today’s Diary.

This is up one mile per gallon from last week, but if this is all that primo, $10 bottle of gas treatment can do for the new ride, then it’s a waste of money…Sometimes, tho, it takes a tank or two for full effect, so we’re taking a wait-and-see attitude.

History’s long march.

In 1920 – The United States rejects the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I for the second time, following defeat the previous November. American involvement in World War I did not officially end until President Warren Harding signed the Knox-Porter Resolution, ceasing American hostilities with the Central Powers in July 1921. The US would later sign peace treaties with individual nations.

In 1955 – The San Francisco Dons defeat the defending champion La Salle Explorers 77-63 to win the NCAA basketball championship at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. K.C. Jones led all scorers with 24 points and Bill Russell had 23 points and was named the tournament’s most outstanding player. It was the first of two consecutive NCAA titles for the Dons and remains the last NCAA title game appearance for La Salle.

In 1983 – Ricky Skaggs is at #1 on Billboard’s country chart – then known as the Hot Country Singles chart – for the only week with I Wouldn’t Change You If I Could. It was the fourth of eleven #1 country songs for Skaggs and his fifth of 20 Top 10 country hits. The song also went #1 country in Canada and was Billboard’s 13th-biggest country song of the year.
