ELECT THE FELON, WATCH THE CRIME: President Donald Trump recently announced he is selling early access to Truth Social posts, both by him and others. The cost is between $60,000 and $100,000 per month for access before the masses are allowed to view it, and you do not have to be Dow Jones to strongly suspect that financial firms can put this information to good use.
Dry, Technical Matter: Trump is selling inside information, and you do not have to be Judge Judy to strongly suspect this is not only morally wrong, but also impeachable and criminal. But who is going to tell him no? His staff? Congress? The Justice Department? Don’t be silly. They’re probably profiting from this, too.
Good Night And Good News: And where the hell’s the media in all this? Like they have been since Trump first announced for the White House in 2015, they’re treating his nonsense as real news. We’re the lesser for it, too, because the normalization and legitimization of Donald Trump’s criminality and ignorance will go down as a complete and utter default of the rights and obligations granted a free press by the 1st Amendment.
FunFact: The American media’s continued existence constitutes a fraud on the American people.
The Bottom Line: Not that we the people appear to be getting worked up over this. That Donald Trump did this isn’t a bulletin: he is an ignorant, lying, convicted felon and he is governing accordingly. No, the bulletin is that we are tolerating it. Our country is being looted, our country is bombing school children, our country is dying, and one hundred years from now all new people – including Americans if there are any left – will look back and see the American people allowed all of it.

In 1099 – The First Crusade comes to an end when Christian Crusaders defeat Muslim forces at the Battle of Ascalon in what is now western Israel. The Crusade was a victory for the Crusaders, who won back Jerusalem after centuries of Muslim rule. The Crusades – begun by Pope Urban II in 1095 – would end in 1291 with the Muslims retaking their lost territory.
In 1928 – The Summer Olympics come to a close in Amsterdam. The games featured an Olympic flame for the first time, marked the first time Greece led the parade of nations and the host nation finished it, and India won its first of six consecutive field hockey gold medals. The US led the medal count with 22 gold and 56 overall, and the Games also held an arts competition – common for the times – though the medals are no longer counted in official totals.
In 1978 – The Commodores are at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles chart for the first of two consecutive weeks with Three Times A Lady. It was the first of ten Top hits for the group, their first of two pop #1s, and their fifth of seven soul #1s. The song went to #1 in five other countries, including Ireland and Great Britain, and was Billboard’s 10th-biggest song of the year. In 1978, a version by Conway Twitty went to #4 on Billboard’s country chart.
