Back At GHSD
Johnnie is fired!!!

I am not making that up, and it’s OK that I’m not…Johnnie tended to do the job his way regardless of whatever General Hospital Security Department (GHSD) policy had to say on the matter, and the ax had been sharpening for a while…For example, he did not like to do reports for routine things, like escorts…A detailed report isn’t required for walking someone to the birth ward, but you’re supposed to enter it in the program on the device we carry…Most of us are pretty good about it, but Johnnie never bothered.

Alisha had some of the details on Johnnie’s firing but, maddeningly, not all of them…She said she they’d had it out recently when he wouldn’t stop whining about having to do patient watches, which has long been Standard Johnnie Operating Procedure (SJOP)…We tended to let it go, but Alisha has always had a rather low tolerance for this, and she let Johnnie know she didn’t want to hear his whining, and Johnnie – again, per SJOP – didn’t like hearing that, and evidently it was on.

Then there was an incident involving Johnnie and a woman he helped out of a car who reportedly whizzed on him, and Johnnie let his displeasure with the incident be known via the pass-on log…He was obliged to take it down, and Alisha figured this had something to do with his firing, too, tho the real reason isn’t known… More than once Hunter has asked me if we wanted Johnnie’s full-time shift, so he’s been on thin ice for a while.

LOL
Later, we came back from a tour, and there were these two older guys who turned out to be brothers in the ER lobby…The first guy was plainly here for treatment for his leg, and later we asked his brother, who’s a year younger, what the deal was…He said they were out “in the back 40 somewhere”, which was hardly a surprise because they were both dressed like shrubbery.

We were hunting elk…He was walking across a log that was six feet off the ground.
We look at him quizzically and showed a palm…This is whack; these guys are older than me.
He was what???…At our age???…Are elks hiding in trees now???
The guy shook his head, and we noted something about the older brother generally being the responsible one.
– We’re running around in the back woods and climbing over dead trees…The guy shook his head again,,,Our late sister was the responsible one.

More Personnel News
The big news is Dylan called off, and Hunter was in at 0300…I am not making that up, because regular readers of this crap know Hunter is usually 50/50 about coming in at 0300…Sometimes he does, but sometimes he’ll text around 0200 to ask if anything is going on and if there’s not, he’ll go back to sleep…Once or twice he hasn’t shown up at all…But today he was in right at 0300, saw there was nothing going on, and promptly started reading a book…We didn’t bother asking why Johnnie was fired because we know from experience that he wouldn’t say anything, only that it was “an accumulation of things.”

Lights…Camera…Action
Sparrow For Congress went live for the first time tonite…Recall Wednesday we recorded the inaugural edition of Daily Report, weren’t entirely pleased with it, and decided to do it live…The question then was when???…In the morning when we got home from work, or in the evening when we woke up.

We decided on evening, before going to the gym, because we’d be rested, instead of tired after being on the clock all nite, and it went pretty well…Our performance is not going to win an Oscar – and it is tuff to be less photogenic than ol’ Sparrow – but we looked the camera – and viewers – directly in the eye and we spoke from the heart, which are two points in our favor.

Almost interesting is the fact we almost changed the name to Plain Talk…I am not making that up…That title has long interested us and we’ve used it before and we might even have a website lying around with that name, but when we went live “Daily Report” came out of our mouth…Then we remembered this app we have that produced stickmen videos and we created a Benjamin Franklin character and that some Founding Fatherly advice from ol’ Ben under the title Plain Talk might have some merit.

Late To The Gym
Our goal was to be ready for action at the gym at 1730, but we got there a bit later, so we dove into the first 10-minute deep breathing session and left weight lifting TBD…But then we had to take a crap, and that took time, then we remembered we had to get gas and trim the beard and the flowing locks, and before you knew it, it was too late to get weight work in…So we did three sets of deep breathing and some squats with that 18-lb padded bar because…We haven’t done Smith machine squats in a few days and we are starting to feel it…The padded bar squats helped, but we are going to resume Smith machine squats tomorrow.

We did get our usual warm greeting from cute Melissa today…Her douche-y husband was there, too…Part of me thought it would be big fun to smack her husband around before asking her out, but we decided against it.

Sparrow’s Sleep Log:
0930 Thursday until 1630 Wednesday…7.0 hours for the day and 36.0 hours for the week.

The Diary of a Nobody is a novel. All elements are either products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Anything else is a coincidence.

The Diary of a Nobody was inspired by the 19th-century British novel of the same name.
