The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow forgets to pack his belt. Today’s Diary.
Forgetting my belt got me thinking about getting a new one…My belt – and I think I’ve noted this here before – is a Red Wing, which is world-class gear…It’s 18 or 19 years old and is, finally, starting to show some wear…I’ll be in Red Wing, Minnesota, on next month’s road trip and I plan on buying a pair of shoes at the home office store there and I might get a new belt, too.
Here’s the problem, tho: I get 20 years out of the new belt I’m in my mid-70s when it’s time to get a new one…Now, that’s admirable quality, of course, but Christ, I don’t want to face being in my mid-70s right now.
