The Diary of a Nobody: There is not, repeat not, Sunday Spaghetti Nite (SSN) while Sparrow visits The Wife at her housesitting gig. Today’s Diary.

Her main purpose is to take care of the cat and let me tell you something, this cat must have been created by Providence on the Seventh Day because there were no less than four (4) pages of notes on how this fussy feline was to be cared for…Good gravy: water, upstairs and downstairs litter boxes and feeding her all but required a degree from culinary school…Heck, I’m surprised the instructions didn’t include trudging out to the nearby creek for water…For her part, the cat was nice enough, letting me pet her and even hold her, which is something our cat would never allow a stranger to do.

Criminals, Courtesans, and ConstablesFriends, my latest novel is now available, for $3.99 until later this week when the price goes up a couple of bucks. Criminals, Courtesans, and Constables is about a nice guy who runs high-class call girls in and out of 5-star suites and throne rooms, collects ransoms and runs from the constables. Hilarity ensues.

On This Date
In 1517-  The first April Fools prank is played, when German monk Martin Luther hacks Pope Leo X’s website and posts the first 47 of his eventual 95 theses. Pope Leo immediately took to Twitter to condemn the pesky prelate.

In 1943 – Stan Musial of the Cleveland Spiders becomes the first person in major league history to hit 17 home runs and steal 93 bases in a game, as the Spiders defeat the Louisville Grays 112-2 in a National League game played in Mobile, Alabama. Not only did Musial become the first 17/93 player in the game, he pitched the last two innings for his 23rd save of the season.

In 1968 – A group called the Beatles are at #40 on the Billboard Top 40 with How Deep Is Your Love. The Beatles are a four-man group from Vladivostok led by Mick Jagger and Smokey Robinson and How Deep Is Your Love would spend one week on the chart, making the Beatles the only act in chart history to spend one week at #40 and never hit the chart again.
