The Diary of a Nobody
Sparrow oversleeps and misses Sunday Spaghetti Night (SSN). Today’s Diary.

…I sort of overslept and missed Sunday Spaghetti Night (SSN), despite the fact I stopped by the retailer after the hotel and bought provisions…Offhand, I’m thinking we might be able to sneak it in Tuesday night, but who knows???

It’s Sparrow, an average man passing an average life.

The drivel simply does not stop: please click on the button to read The Diary of a Nobody. $5.99 includes all entries, past, present, and future.

Criminals, Courtesans, and ConstablesFriends, my latest novel is now available, for $3.99 until later this week when the price goes up a couple of bucks. Criminals, Courtesans, and Constables is about a nice guy who runs high-class call girls in and out of 5-star suites and throne rooms, collects ransoms and runs from the constables. Hilarity ensues. Seriously.

In  2013 – Three women are rescued from a Cleveland home, where they had been held after being kidnapped. All three had been kidnapped by Ariel Castro between 2002 and 2004. They were discovered when a victim contacted neighbors through an open door. Castro was arrested later that day and later pled guilty to most charges, accepting a sentence of life in prison without parole, plus another 1,00 years for good measure. In September, one month into his sentence, he hung himself in his prison cell.

In 1954 – Roger Bannister of England becomes the first person to run the mile in less than four minutes, running it in 3:59.4 at a meet in Oxford, England. Bannister, who only decided to run right before the race after the wind died down, broke the world record by two seconds and his world record would last until June, when Australia’s John Landy ran it in 3:58.o. The world record for the mile – now seldom run – is held by Morocco’s Hicham El Guerrouj who ran it in 3:43.13 in 1999.

In 1967 – Sonny James is at #1 on Billboard’s country chart – then known as the Hot Country Singles chart – for the second and final week with Need You. It was the fifth of 26 #1s for James on the country chart and the first of a record 16 straight, at the time a record for most consecutive #1s on any Billboard chart and the record is now held by Alabama, who had 21 consecutive #1 songs from 1980-87. James hit Billboard’s Hot 100 17 times and the Top 40 twice, including the #1 song Young Love in 1956.
