The Diary of a NobodySparrow trims his nose hair at work and gets sworn at by someone on the phone. Today’s Diary.

…Robin took care of my ear hair when I got my haircut last week, but the nose hair was starting to assert itself so I trimmed it at the hotel before clocking in marking what has to be the first ever Job Site Nose Hair Trim (JSNHT) that I can recall…I mean, who would forget a prior JSNHT???…I don’t think I would…It came out looking really, good, too…You’d really have to look up a nostril to see any hair.

In 1973 – Roughly 200 members of the Oglala Lakota Indian tribe and other members of the  American Indian Movement (AIM) occupy the town of Wounded Knee, South Dakota. The takeover was countered by, among others, the FBI and the US Marshall’s Service and the standoff lasted for 71 days. There was sporadic gunfire during this time, with two Indians killed and 14 wounded. Two government agents were wounded.

In 1996 – The Chicago Bulls defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 120-99. The win improves the Bulls record to 50-6, the fastest any team has reached 50 victories in a season. The Bulls would finish the season 72-10, the most wins in an NBA season and earning their fourth NBA title in six years. Both records would be broken by the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors who would start the season 50-5 and win 73 games.

In 1961 – Don’t Worry by Marty Robbins is at #1 on Billboard’s country chart – then known as the Hot C&W Sides chart – for the first of ten consecutive weeks. Don’t Worry was Robbins’ seventh of 17 #1s on the country chart and also peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Robbins also drove in a couple of Daytona 500s, finishing 34th in 1973 and 39th in 1975.
