The Sunday Bottom 5
The very best of the very worst of the week that was.

1. Joe Biden President-elect set to become 45th of 46 US presidents who knows/knew Continental Army securing British airports did not win American Revolution.

2. Donald Trump Good riddance to the worst elected leader any democracy’s ever had…We’ll get over most of the problems your idiocy, ignorance and incompetence inflicted on our country, but the blood on your hands from your inept handling of the coronavirus will never be washed off.

3. Lauren Daigle109 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on Hot Christian Singles chart for her song You Say, one week away from tying all-time Billboard chart record set by Wendy Carlos…(Switched-On Bach, Classical Album chart, 1969-72)…Song has been on the charts so long Daigle has had five follow-up Christian chart hits.

4. COVID-19 Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters aren’t doctors – nor have they ever played one on TV – but remain “pretty sure” if all of us wore masks and treated everyone we meet as if they were wracked with COVID, coronavirus would be contained in a few months.

5. President Trump Fact CheckAs thousands of fact-checkers nationwide face unemployment, our 5-hole staple has all the post-election lies from our Liar-in-Chief…Click here to enjoy…From the Associated Press.

The Diary of a Nobody: Sparrow has the latest morning coffee service news from the hotel.

Not having an operating coffee pot in the back office meant coffee for Morning Coffee Service (MCS) was made in the restaurant…On Wednesday a waitress there said she used three bags for a pot (they use bigger pots than we do) so that’s what I rolled with but when I filled up our pots we only got two pots instead of the anticipated three…Well, you don’t have to be Juan Valdez to reckon this results in stronger coffee and a field test showed this was the case: it was strong enuff to put in your car for better gas mileage…So this batch was tossed out, a terrible waste of good coffee but what are you going to do.

The long march to today.

In 1923 – Adolf Hitler, and others, try and fail to overthrow the German government in Munich, an attempt History refers to as the Beer Hall Putsch. Hitler would later serve eight months of a 5-year sentence for his efforts, before being released and resuming his efforts at taking control of the German government. 16 years to the day later Hitler, now German dictator, would survive an assassination attempt, a bombing at the same place.

In 1942 – Parker Hall of the Cleveland Rams establishes a new NFL record for most interceptions in a game in a 30-12 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Hall had seven interceptions and while research into whose record he broke was inconclusive, History does show Hall was also the first player to throw six interceptions in an NFL game. The record would be tied twice before being broken by Jim Hardy of the Chicago Cardinals, who had eight interceptions on Sept 24, 1950.

In 1952 – Patti Page is at #1 on Billboard’s Best Sellers in Stores chart – a forerunner of the Hot 100 – for the fourth of five consecutive weeks with I Went To Your Wedding. Before hitting #1, the song had spent four weeks at #2 and was the fifth biggest song on the Best Sellers in Stores chart for the year. I Went To Your Wedding also went to #1 on Billboard’s Most Played by Jockeys and Most Played in Jukeboxes charts and was the third of four #1 songs for Page on a Billboard pop chart

Answer To The Last Trivia Question
It’s not who you know, but what you know.

Hall and Oates’ first #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 was Rich Girl, which spent two weeks at #1 in 1977.
