The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow is still basking in the glow of Thursday’s cleaning frenzy. Today’s Diary. 

Boy, it is really nice having a clean car…Especially nice is not being hit with that odor the first thing when you open the trunk, and again when you open the door, which was too much even for me to take…That carpet deodorizer I threw on the carpet before vacuuming is still producing a nice, fresh scent for the cabin, tho it will still require professional help for a spring cleaning.

Now, of course, you gotta be careful with kidnapping humor in the third decade of the 21st century because people get their shorts in a knot over everything nowadays, but my trusty instincts combined with classic Sparrow timing (CST) to turn out a really good line.

The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow sees the constables twice at the hotel. Today’s Diary. 

Anyway, he asks for a key, but I wave that off and tell him to follow me…This is why you keep keys on you when working a hotel: you never know when you will need them quickly…Besides, I want to be there to see if anyone from the hotel needs to be called.

The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow and the new guy Gene deal with a tedious broad at the hotel. Today’s Diary. 

Then the woman shows why she had the driver exasperated…She starts asking us questions about which doctor would be the best to treat her injured back and I thought of this woman I knew in a support group whose husband was a doctor of this sort, but there was another woman from the same support group who said he was a quack who really should be working at an abattoir and I ended up telling her we were not qualified to make such a recommendation. She didn’t like this at all and was about to take it to DefCon 1 when I gave her the smile that tends to cause women to disrobe and Gene ended up giving her the number of some clinics, and this mollified her somewhat and she went to her room.

The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow has the latest on the new ride. Today’s Diary. 

The big news is the CHECK ENGINE light came on in the new ride when I started it up after the shift…Since I was sitting down and not in a position to stand and stare at it crossly with my hands on my hips – the standard Sparrow troubleshooting technique – I immediately turned the engine off and on again which didn’t solve the problem at all…Visual inspection at the retailer, however, showed the gas cap hanging out, so I put it back on and while the CHECK ENGINE didn’t immediately go off, I had filled up Sunday, so it hadn’t immediately come on, either, so I’ll give it a day or so before allowing panic to set in.
